Motivation for Success

Academic Coaching combines the drive of a sports coach with the mentor-ship of a guidance counselor. Students focus on building skills and setting goals by evaluating their strengths and identify areas where there is room for growth. Students set short term goals focused on improving vital critical and analytical skills, while long term goals ensure students keep their eye on the prize. I work one-on-one with students to help them navigate online classes and supplement in person instruction. No matter how your student is performing in school, my program is designed to push students and ensure that they have a strong academic foundation.

How it works:

Consultation:

Students and Parents sit down for a one hour discussion of the student's current course work, strengths and weaknesses as a student, and long term aspirations. From their we can design a curriculum tailored to supporting personal and intellectual growth.

Assessment:

Students will complete a verbal and written assessment designed to help me better understand which skills to target.

Coursework:

We will meet in person, online, or a combination of the two, for class. Most courses will have regularly assigned homework to practice skills discussed in class and is not designed to interfere with school work.

Accountability & Accessibility:

Students design long and short term goals and each week, they will be required to update me on school work, discuss extracurricular activities, and complete the homework I assign. Once students start working with me they have access to me via email 7 days a week. Whether its a quick question or a deep dive, I’m here to help even when we aren’t in class.
